Beyond Humanism by Nadroj21 Beyond Humanism by Nadroj21
Part of what I mean here is that we should be conscious not to continue our trend of war from tribes to factions to religions to countries further onto other races and "species". Encountering non human entities may sound like a far off prospect, but we are approaching sentient AI very quickly, as well as other types of intelligent life, along with changes to our own human intelligence, perhaps making one human very different to another. This is why I use the word "everything" instead of "everyone": we may not consider AI to be people in the classic sense of the word.

I also mean that in considering the best path for us to take in a situation (especially with political decisions) would be better dictated not by asking ourselves "What would I gain from this" but instead asking "What would make the universe a better place". Not just our group. Not just our state. Not just our country. Not even just our world.
Of course, we needn't always consider the entire universe in it's entirety when making decisions, but the broadest, most rational view necessary should always be considered. In all, this would be extremely unifying for all factions who would otherwise be bound to war, even if only one side would take up the more universal, rationalized mentality. Not only that, but global issues like CO2 emissions really need this kind of thinking. We cannot be so selfish.
This, of course relies on judgement of what "a better place for everything" is, which will depend on the views and knowledge of those making the decision.

In all, it's basically just a slight modification of secular Humanism, but considering more than just the good of humanity.
Perhaps this is unrealistic, and perhaps this is flawed. Let me know either way.

I have a better idea. Let us forget the word "fight" and say, instead "share".

Share with people
Share with factions
Share with religion
Share with countries

And most important, share with humanity the concept of Love and Sharing because this concept is equal with a better understanding of life.

ps: animals have soul as well and are much better than humans, in many ways.

Animals = none human entities
Plants = None human entities
Space aliens = none human and extraterrestrial entities
This is an important distinction.
All and all however, a very good point. I wish more people thought like this :heart:

Thank you :), but I think I am missing the reason why an entity being extraterrestrial would be an important distinction...

By using the word "everything", I don't mean to be telling you to fight to make the universe the best place possible for all of the rocks and grains of sand and air molecules in the universe, because they are not conscious, and, for them, there is no better universe. There is no difference for them between existence and destruction, because they are literally unable to care. The same could be extended to plants, to a certain degree, and also to some animals, for a certain degree. This is what I think dictates what priorities are to be placed on the "everything" in making a "better place for everything".

"Encountering non human entities may sound like a far off prospect,"
It is an important distinction because we encounter none human entities every day, even in the air we breath. Life based off/from somewhere other then Earth? We may never see.

Ah, I see, thanks.
But in saying "extraterrestrial non human entities", alien plants and microorganisms and single celled bacteria would be included also. Perhaps that fits fine into what I am saying, or perhaps I should make the blurry distinction of "advanced" or "intelligent".

maybe, I'm not sure what would work best myself.
